On the Zambezi River, meeting the elephants with my family 2017
Welcome to The Wild Journey Home
This is a place for remembering.
Maybe your shoulders have been inching up toward your ears, and you aren’t sure when that started.
Maybe you’ve been making decisions from urgency and wondering afterward why they didn’t feel right.
Maybe you feel most like yourself in places and spaces that are off the beaten path — and you’ve never quite known why.
This space is for the part of you that already knows, even when the noise (in your head or in the world — probably both) is loud.
The Wild Journey Home is where the body’s intelligence is honored, where the more-than-human world offers guidance, and where listening is valued more than certainty. Everything here is an invitation to come home to the wisdom of your soft animal body.
What Haunts These Woods
Here you’ll find animal medicine essays, embodied practices, and reflections on the thresholds life brings, whether we’re ready or not — stories and transmissions that arise when we pay attention to what moves through the body rather than trying to manage life from the mind alone.
If you want to dip your toes in, here are a few favorite places to start:
“The Fierce Feminine” - Lioness medicine for caring for your wise, instinctive self so it’s there when you need it most.
“Disrupt Old Patterns” - Coyote wisdom for exploring unexpected paths and responding to chaos and fear in surprising ways
“Making Magic” - Hippo medicine on how loving containers and boundaries create the structure that helps us blossom and grow
Inside The Wild Journey Home
Free subscribers receive public posts, essays, and podcast episodes sent straight to your inbox, with love. Writing arrives when it’s ready — usually once or twice a month.
Paid subscribers are invited into a closer, deeper circle: The First Sunday Sanctuary. On the first Sunday of every month, we gather live online for a restorative session of Yoga Nidra combined with active imagination.
This is a sacred, intentional space to rest, vision, receive clarity, and meet your guides (and the animals) in community at the beginning of each month. Paid members also receive full, unrestricted access to the entire archive of essays and posts, and occasional seasonal surprises.
To keep the energy of our circle intimate, sacred, and fully present, these sessions are not recorded. They happen once, in real-time, and then the effects ripple out into your life.
Why trust me?
I’m Nona Jordan — master coach, yoga therapist, energy practitioner, and artist. I’ve spent what feels like a lifetime learning what it means to come home to myself: through the body, through recovery, through healing from trauma. I’m still learning.
I work with women at the thresholds of life. My work sits at the intersection of embodiment, coaching, and the wisdom of the more-than-human world. You can learn more about my 1:1 work at nonajordan.com.
The animals — more than human nature — are always speaking. Your soft animal body is always listening.
You are welcome here.
