The Powerful (non)Action of Rest
Rest as a profound practice of choosing yourself plus a 23-minute Yoga Nidra practice for the inner circle (paid) community.
I love contemplative practices of stillness.
I would go so far as to say it is my long-term commitment to meditation, breathwork, active imagination, and yoga nidra that fuel my capacity to be the woman I am, and the woman I am becoming.
I particularly love yoga nidra because it weaves together body relaxation, breath, and active imagination with intention making it a potent practice of healing and transformation. Done lying down, it has been referred to as “soulful sleep”.
Held by the earth and the divine.
When I practice yoga nidra, I feel profoundly held by the earth and the divine. Often it feels as if my physical borders dissolve and I am the expansion and contraction of the breath and I am pulsing with the universe. There is such a tenderness in the act of lying down and letting go — trusting the earth, and the process, as I sink into my experience it expands to be ancient and rich with connection both back in time, and into the future.
It is in these quiet, intentional practices that I reconnect with deep wisdom, remember who I am and who I am becoming, and know the path (and actions) that are mine. Contemplative, intentional rest is a powerful way to say yes to yourself.
I am delighted to share this 23-minute practice.
For you, my beloved inner circle community, here is a yoga nidra I recorded just for you.
Please be wise:
Don’t listen to this while driving a vehicle or operating machinery.
I invite you to listen to this practice when you can lie down and be cozy.
Use headphones for the best listening experience.
And do enjoy!
I would love to hear about your experience should you use this short practice, or feel free to share the contemplative practices that deeply nourish you.
With all my love and blessings for deep rest,
Nona
