Money & Reverence: Restore
I've been offering insight into the steps of The Reverence Framework, which is a holistic, trauma-sensitive, spiritual, psychological, and energetically-rooted approach to healing your relationship with money. In particular, this framework is for women in business who want to move from scarcity to abundance and create a more than enough life.
Let's recap
The first two steps of the reverence framework are first to Root and Resource, which is to ground and cultivate calm and presence in the body. This act is vital to bring your wisest, most compassionate self online.
The second step is to Remember: when you are grounded and present, that's the moment for compassionate honesty. This is where you take a look at the actual numbers. What's really happening with you and your money? With deep breaths and an open heart, to Remember is an opportunity to evaluate the realities of your experience. What is your relationship with money?
This provides the foundation for the next step, to Restore. To restore is to cultivate wholeness and to restore a sense of your power and agency. We do this with multifaceted, trauma-sensitive healing modalities.
Why go beyond mindset & skills, you ask?
After doing my own money healing and working with so many women over the years, here's the truth. For many of us, our relationship to money and the behaviors surrounding money that don't serve us are often steeped in the trauma of scarcity wounding.
But that isn't true for everyone. For the woman who just needs to learn the skill of managing money or to uplevel her skills to make different kinds of financial choices, a course on investing or planning and tracking her money inflow and outflow will be a brilliant choice that will change everything.
However, that isn't always the case. When those of us who carry scarcity wounding or trauma are told that traditional money skills will work, and then it doesn't, it brings up shame, embarrassment, and guilt plus a whole host of feelings about our capability (and for me, it was a whole lot of, "What is wrong with me??") So, for women who have experienced trauma or scarcity wounding around money or worthiness, you will want to offer yourself the gift of different, deeper healing practices in order to be able to shift into a different kind of relationship with money.
To Restore is to choose to heal.
When I say deeper healing work, I mean somatic, psychological, emotional, and spiritual healing. I always begin with the body psyche because trauma and scarcity wounding is energy and emotion that is essentially frozen in time in our body.
Somatic healing: Frozen energy (or trauma imprints) leads us to repeat patterns and behave in ways that don't serve us. It is imperative to release that emotional and physical energy to bring the body-mind into the current moment. This moment is where our power and our choice reside. To bring ourselves into a state of currency, we must gently go back and release that energy.
Psychological healing: This is different than mindset work. Alongside the somatic work, I utilize the framework of Internal Family Systems (IFS), which is very aligned with shamanic/active imagination work. We can use the IFS model to gain understanding and insight into the various parts that are at play in your money story.
Soul and spirit healing: One of the most powerful resources we have to support our healing is the spirit realm. Using active imagination as a pathway to access our parts (as understood through IFS mapping) as well as unseen allies and guides that can and want to support healing. This realm can become a powerful resource that offers very real shifts in how you experience yourself and the world.
Ritual and practice: Finally, I invite all of my clients to create daily rituals and practices. These become an organizing force for healing, clarity, and creating change. For instance, lighting candles to honor guides and allies, and ancestors or sitting in silence, or practicing daily gratitude. And let's not forget the practice of checking in with your money every day! The options for crafting a ritual and a practice that support the shifts that you seek are endless, and they are a powerful way to bring your desire to Restore to life.
To tend ourselves honestly is Reverence.
To honor the healing that is asking to be done is an act of reverence for ourselves and for life. These practices begin to shift our experience on a deeper level, which prepares us to shape and shift our narrative in ways that support money healing.
In the next step of The Reverence Framework, we'll begin to shape the narrative. However, these healing practices that Restore through somatic, psychological, soul, and ritual work, create aliveness and connection with our deepest wisdom, which restores a sense of innate wholeness and worthiness at the most foundational levels.
So tell me everything does for store resonate with you, which of these healing pathways appeals most? Is there one you feel skeptical about? I want to know, so tell me everything.
Stay tuned for more of The Reverence Framework.
