Money & Reverence: Recalibrate
This week, we are continuing with the steps of The Reverence Framework- the framework is a healing practice for women in business who want to move from scarcity to true abundance and create a more than enough business and life.

Step 4: Recalibrate
In this piece, we're diving into the fourth step of the framework, which is To Recalibrate. I want to start with a story.
Thought work failed me.
When I began my coaching career, I really wanted thought work to be the thing. And what I mean by that is I wanted to be able to think differently and in thinking differently to feel differently. I wanted to believe the model we were taught - that thoughts could, and would, control and fix everything. I hoped that if my thoughts helped me to feel different then I would behave differently. That's what the coaches told me, however, I did not find that was true.
Sticky thought patterns.
I had some thoughts and patterns of thinking and persistent narratives that were really sticky. No matter how much thought work I did, these thoughts would return. I quickly realized that they were really sticky because they were related to wounding that I had experienced when I was very young about my worthiness and my capability.
In addition, I'm a highly sensitive person and have also experienced trauma. So my nervous system is very sensitive as well. All of these factors combined meant that thought work was not actually very effective for me. That's not to say that it isn't effective. However, for those of us who have experienced trauma and persistent scarcity wounding, for those of us who are sensitive, honestly, the best place to start when you want to shift something is with the body.
Bottom-up healing practice.
To Restore (the third step in The Reverence Framework) is the invitation to begin with the body - a bottom-up approach (as opposed to beginning with the mind). What I found all those years ago was that really sitting with the feelings that came up when I was thinking about those things from my past - feeling those feelings and noticing what was happening in my body: the tension, the pain, the discomfort - paying attention to all of that with tenderness and self-compassion began to unwind the bound up energy of wounding and trauma.
As that energy is freed inside of the body psyche, the narratives and the beliefs begin to shift naturally. And that's why in the reverence framework, we begin with the healing - Recalibration of thoughts is far more organic and comes with more ease when we begin from the bottom up.
The mind responds when the body heals.
We begin in the body and by beginning in the body, our mind begins to respond in kind. Often, when we begin to metabolize and process the emotions of old wounding, our beliefs begin to shift organically, and we can see what is actually available to us here in the now. When we can see what's true in the now, then we can begin to shape the narrative. We can begin to shift our beliefs consciously.
After we have done some work in the body, then the recalibration of our mind and our narratives begins. And then we can work to shape our thinking with greater intention.
To Recalibrate opens us to possibility.
Next week, we will move on to talking about step five, which is To Receive. Honestly, we're getting to the part of The Reverence Framework that is most exciting. When we've really brought more and more of our energy into the present moment, when we are more aware of our wholeness, we are more present to the possibility that exists for us.
It's your turn - tell me everything - what is resonating with you as I share The Reverence Framework with you?
